Northwest Bergen Central Dispatch
Provide a high quality gateway to Public Safety Services through Technology and Teamwork

Northwest Bergen Central Dispatch (NWBCD) has two main functions.

The first function is to take requests for assistance and dispatch public safety units for all of Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Parkridge, Montvale, and Woofcliff Lakes' Emergency Services including Police, Fire, and EMS. NWBCD also dispatches for New Milford, Oradell, and Riveredge Fire Departments, as well as New Milford EMS.

The second function is to answer E9-1-1 calls. In the spring of 1994, NWBCD became a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), answering E9-1-1 calls for several towns. Today, NWBCD answers E9-1-1 calls for the communities of Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Parkridge, Montvale, and Woofcliff Lake, Ramsey, Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Rutherford, River Edge, New Milford, Oradell, and Waldwick. The combined population of the eleven communities is approximately 155,000.
