Northwest Bergen Central Dispatch is currently accepting applications for the position of Dispatcher.
Northwest Bergen Central Dispatch (NWBCD) is always seeking qualified applicants to join our team as Public Safety Telecommunicators. The NWBCD Telecommunicator is responsible for the effective and efficient handling of emergency and non-emergency calls as well as the communications of over fifteen public safety agencies. Duties can include:

Receive and field emergency and non-emergency phone calls.

Provide emergency medical instructions to callers.

Dispatch appropriate public safety personnel in a professional and timely manner.

Record and track calls for service in a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Handle NCIC and CJIS look-ups and entries for law enforcement officers.
Required education:
-
High school or equivalent
Required licenses or certifications:
-
Valid CPR Card
-
Valid Basic Telecommunicator / 9-1-1 Officer

Valid Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD)
Successful candidate must also pass an aptitude test and type 30 words per minute.
